Shishu Mandir runs entirely on funds received from individual donors and corporates. Each year, an annual budget is presented to the Board for approval. Funds are sought based on the programmes initiated and the budget required for each. With corporate donors we often sign a Memorandum of Understanding on how their donation will be used. While donors and supporters are informed about how their funds are used, we ensure that all the beneficiaries are also made aware of the extent of donations available for a programme. We stress on this degree of transparency, extending it to donors and also to our staff and beneficiaries. We believe this helps us maintain the quality of our service. We also receive support in the form of volunteer services, sponsorship of meals, clothes, events and activities. Every support that is received is acknowledged and recorded.
